The Advans Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd, who were part of the project partners to Global Shea Alliance in the sustainable implementation plan of the Shea Business Empowerment program (sbep), 2024 supported 231 members of the Winitira Shea and Farmer women cooperative with the social loans as prefinancing during last year’s farming season.

Successfully, without a default, all the 231 cooperative members paid back their debts with Shea Kernel per the agreement. As a result, out of goodwill, Advans Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd presented 231 baskets and one commodity weighing scale for each beneficiary and cooperative body, respectively.

This cooperative was formed in 2023 by the Wuntira Agri Foundation under the sbep project awarded by the Global Shea Alliance and sponsored by the Mastercard Foundation.

On behalf of the cooperative women and the youth, the WAV team would love to extend our gratification to Aaron Adu Global Shea Alliance Advans Ghana Savings and Loans Ltd Mastercard Foundation for the partnership with Wuntira Agri Foundation to contribute to making rural livelihoods improved through the sustenance of the rural Shea business value chain.

It is our hope that this partnership with these cooperatives sustains and continue to make impact in the lives of the marginalized but resilient women and youth.
